Marc Jacobs on life

Marc Jacobs on Paris vs New York
"The one thing that's helped me to achieve some sort of balance is my life between New York and Paris, because Paris is a lot calmer and slower-moving than New York. I find myself at home at 8 o'clock for dinner, and I'll walk the dogs, and I'm in bed before midnight. When I have a few hours to myself in Paris, I feel like a success, and when I have a few hours to myself in New York, I feel like a failure, because in New York there's always dinners to go to, gallery openings to go to, movie premieres, parties—it's just so full-on."

Marc Jacobs on Sex and Fashion
"I don't think clothes are sexual; I think people are sexual. You can always tell somebody's sexy—whether they're wearing a big old baggy tracksuit or a skintight, low-cut dress. But everything affects me and what I do, whether I'm in a relationship or wanting to be in a relationship or obsessing over someone. Lately the shows we've been doing in New York have been these tableaus of my inner world—whatever's going on, whatever perversity. It's not manifesting itself in a low-cut, slinky floor-length gown with beads in it, but that's not to say it isn't informed by a lot of sexual tension."

Marc Jacobs on Blogs and his new Diet
"The culture we live in now is such a fishbowl that nothing passes without a snarky comment on the Web....You're going to get a bunch of blogs saying "He must be on meth in order to be that skinny compared to 10 months ago," but in fact I'm eating a totally organic diet, which has no flour, no sugar, no dairy, and no caffeine, and I lost weight because of that diet and because of a two and a half hour exercise regimen seven days a week."

TOMS

My love for TOMS shoes dates a year back.I actually had the opportunity to meet Blake Mycoskie ceo of TOMS at a fashion panel .Anne Slowey(Elle magazine) told the story of how she featured his shoes in an issue that lead to his big break.I must admit he is a very humble man who really enjoys what he does.TOMS began in may 2006 with the initiative of "one for one" for every pair bought one would be donated to a child in need. With all the hype of the elections TOMS have created some political shoes. They have three different styles republican ,democrat, and split decision vote(pictured above). Why not make a statement all the while helping a good cause? At 45 dollars a pair you can't go wrong.

Top shop.

Top shop..chop chop...whats taking you so long.Photobucket

Top shop is known in the u.s mostly for it collaboration with model Kate Moss but the United Kingdom based retailer is one of the best out and there finally coming to N.Y. .The store will be located on 478 Broadway in Soho.Dont think top shop is like all those other chain retailers.Europeans do it in style and they certainly didn't waste any time. The store will feature 40,000-square-feet composed of four selling floors; glossy shelving; futuristic lighting tubes and a DJ booth, both suspended from the ceiling; an ‘army’ of mannequins; a shoe lounge; 32 changing rooms, and a VIP suite for the expected celebrity clientèle”. To provide more of a luxury service, there will be personal shoppers, “stylists” for women and “style advisers” for men and “Topshop to Go at-home shopping service and Express for home delivery will also be offered”.The store opens October 10th 2008,I cant wait!
